Today, for the first time ever in my career as a community college instructor, I taught the wrong material. I came hyper-prepared, set up the discussions beautifully, drew all kinds of information from students. The catch? All of that material should be taught next week. Most students hadn’t even completed the necessary reading.
Some of them told me, “Hey, you’re ruining the book for me.” But I’m so used to students who come to class unprepared that I said, “Oh, I’m sorry. But we really do have to get through this today.”
The absent-minded professor. What a tool.
