Robins’ eggs and tears

Robins’ eggs are blue for the same reason tears are gray. They both fall from the sky, just at different times, when the sky’s of different dispositions. But everything cracks when it hits the top of Mrs Winterson’s trash can. Nothing, neither tears nor eggs, has ever survived the fall. So date me before it’s too late. And trust me. I’m a poet.
